Amenities and Dining

You can have breakfast in bed or do the whole thing  in the bright and breezy dining room. Alternatively, plonk yourself outside in the garden and catch some rays while you wait for your Earl Grey. An excellent continental breakfast is laid out:  homemade pastries, fresh fruits with honey and yoghurt , cereals, cheese and ham platters  and juices.

Breakfasts are an occasion and guests can enjoy continental, health or full English breakfasts. Our lunch and dinner menus vary from snacks and light meals to 3 course dinners. Meals can also be taken on the patios, in your private garden or in the main gardens. Our menus change every week. We have a 24 hour honour bar and tea and coffee bar. Room service is also available.

We pride ourselves in putting on the best start to the day!

For other meals, there’s a good room-service menu, and you can eat wherever you want; we’d recommend the garden. This is one of the highlights of the lodge.

We have beautiful gardens, and you can steal away to a corner and sit under a  tree. The menu is not overly extensive but it has all the favourites: steak frites, omelettes, risotto and pasta, delicious salads. Drinks-wise there’s an honesty bar in the drawing room.

Our dinner menu caters for most tastes and changes weekly.

If you want to eat out, you’ll find a large selection of restaurants within walking distance; staff will advise. And if you get peckish during the day, pop into our kitchen, for utterly delicious baked goods.

Things to do in Harare

Market at Mbare

Shopping in Harare is highly recommended. More interestingly, Harare offers the huge traditional open market at Mbare, where visitors can find a colourful array of baskets, food, clothing and various other items.  By supporting the local craftsmen who sell their hand-made artwork, stone and wooden sculptures, and wicker goods, visitors can take home a unique piece of Africa that will be treasured for years to come.
