Set amongst a hectare of landscaped gardens, the Armadale Lodge was originally built as a farmhouse in 1904 and today lies in the suburbs of Harare. The property comprises 9 en-suite bedrooms featuring elegant décor and equipped with satellite television, tea & coffee making facilities and WiFi. There is also a dining room and 2 communal lounges. The lodge's restaurant serves a variety of snacks and lighter meals throughout the day and dinner in the evenings while meals can also be taken on the patio or in the garden. There is also a swimming pool. The beautifully designed executive guest suites feature custom furnishings and high end fixtures, cotton linen, comfy bath robes and bath amenities by a local apothecary.
Built in 1904. History is evident in the three generation old gardens. The Charming farmhouse has been restored with modern amenities. 9 Suites with views, garden and pool access.
Each guest suite is equipped with a 32 inch plasma screen with complimentary cable /satellite television, free internet, hypo allergenic bedding, in room safe, heaters and fans, in room teas and coffee and hairdryers.
The garden suites open on to generous, private gardens where private meals can be served and where you can meet with your guests in private, beautiful surroundings.
You can have breakfast in bed or do the whole thing in the bright and breezy dining room. Alternatively, plonk yourself outside in the garden and catch some rays while you wait for your Earl Grey. An excellent continental breakfast is laid out: homemade pastries, fresh fruits with honey and yoghurt , cereals, cheese and ham platters and juices.
Breakfasts are an occasion and guests can enjoy continental, health or full English breakfasts. Our lunch and dinner menus vary from snacks and light meals to 3 course dinners. Meals can also be taken on the patios, in your private garden or in the main gardens. Our menus change every week. We have a 24 hour honour bar and tea and coffee bar. Room service is also available.

For other meals, there’s a good room-service menu, and you can eat wherever you want; we’d recommend the garden. This is one of the highlights of the lodge.
We have beautiful gardens, and you can steal away to a corner and sit under a tree. The menu is not overly extensive but it has all the favourites: steak frites, omelettes, risotto and pasta, delicious salads. Drinks-wise there’s an honesty bar in the drawing room.
Our dinner menu caters for most tastes and changes weekly.
If you want to eat out, you’ll find a large selection of restaurants within walking distance; staff will advise. And if you get peckish during the day, pop into our kitchen, for utterly delicious baked goods.
There are a number of popular tourist attractions in Harare. The National Gallery houses a collection of interesting and valuable pieces of art and sculpture, with a number of superb Shona soft-stone carvings. It also hosts several temporary international exhibitions. . Other institutions of Harare which are well worth visiting include the Queen Victoria Museum and the Queen Victoria National Library, both at the Civic Centre; in Rotten Row.
Shopping in Harare is highly recommended. More interestingly, Harare offers the huge traditional open market at Mbare, where visitors can find a colourful array of baskets, food, clothing and various other items. By supporting the local craftsmen who sell their hand-made artwork, stone and wooden sculptures, and wicker goods, visitors can take home a unique piece of Africa that will be treasured for years to come.
Full Day Trip: Among the granite hills of the Enterprise Valley, Bally Vaughan Game Park boasts lush plains as well as heavily wooded Highveld bush perfect for a day full of adventure. A 35 minute drive from the hotel, your day at Bally Vaughan will commence at the Bird and Game Sanctuary where you will be taken on a conducted tour of the Wild Animal Orphanage. There you will be privileged to see lion, serval cats, hyena, cheetah, leopard, many nocturnal animals and flocks of exotic and indigenous birds.
After tea and scones on a granite kopje, with a spectacular view, comes the highlight of your day... an elephant ride!
