Pit Structures
Visit the surrounding areas, which contain many Stone Age and Iron Age archaeological remains such as pit structures, stone forts, terraces and pathways. The region has a cooler and wetter climate compared to the rest of Africa. Winter in the Highlands can see temperatures falling below 0°C, especially in June and July. The summer roughly extends from November to March, with comfortable traveling possible in the months from May to October.
