Since 1915 Meikles Hotel has been regarded as Zimbabwe's premier 5-star luxury hotel. It is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World and in 2013 was voted Best City Hotel for the 19th successive year by the Association of Zimbabwe Travel Agents (AZTA). Gracious charm is the hallmark of this legendary hotel. Meikles is situated in Harare's Central Business District overlooking Africa Unity Square gardens. A majestic US$9m revitalization was completed in October 2013.

Situated in the heart of Harare, Meikles Hotel is close to African Unity Square, Eastgate Centre, and National Art Gallery. Also nearby are Harare Gardens and Queen Victoria Museum.

With two luxurious multi-storey wings, offset to give the north-facing rooms of both wings breath-taking panoramic views of Africa Unity Square, Meikles is a favourite amongst business and leisure travellers to Harare. Interconnecting rooms are available in the South Wing with inter-leading doors to create family suites. There are twelve floors of non-smoking rooms as well as rooms for guests with special physical needs. From the 306 rooms, there is something to appeal to every kind of guest.

The 317 air-conditioned guestrooms at Meikles Hotel include private pools and minibars (stocked with some free items). Wireless and wired high-speed Internet access (surcharge) is provided. Televisions are equipped with satellite channels. All accommodations provide desks, safes, and direct-dial phones. All units feature refrigerators, minibars, and coffee/tea makers. Additional amenities include complimentary newspapers and complimentary bottled water. Turndown service is offered nightly and housekeeping is available daily.

Meikles Hotel has a full-service spa, an outdoor pool, and a sauna. There is a business centre on site. Dining options at this luxury hotel include a coffee shop/café, a poolside bar, and a bar/lounge. The staff can provide tour/ticket assistance and wedding services. Additional amenities include a rooftop terrace, a fitness centre, and multilingual staff. For a surcharge, guests have access to a roundtrip airport shuttle (available on request). The Tea Lounge

Experience the traditional excellence of sumptuous high tea in the Tea Lounge. The Tea Lounge is situated on the ground floor of the hotel and is a popular meeting venue for locals and hotel guests alike. Enjoy a light meal, breakfast pastries, bagels, scones and a selection of speciality teas and coffees.

The Can Can Cocktail bar

Situated on the first floor La Fontaine Restaurant, the Can Can Cocktail bar offers our residents and guests a secluded spot for a drink before heading off to sample the delights on our Executive Chef's sumptuous menu.

Lunch: 12.30-2.30pm, Monday - Friday

Dinner: 7-10.30pm, Monday - Sunday

Featuring:Alfred's special cocktail – a sublime muddle of vodka, lemon barley and pineapple and raspberry juices.

Specialty whiskies including Johnnie Walker Blue and 18 year old Gold Label, 15 year old Glenfiddich, 18 year old Glendronach , 20 year old Benriach, 18 year old Jameson Special Reserve and 15 year old Dimple Haig.

Explorer's Club 

Harare's highly regarded social meeting place, Explorer's Club is situated on the ground floor of Meikles Hotel and is adorned in warm 'Out of Africa' decor and echoes the hotel's rich heritage. Open daily; this is the ideal spot for locals and guests in search of an ice cold beer after a day of exploring or an informal venue for a business meeting.

Our rates are not just about the level of accommodation or the thread count of the linen. They encompass elements that cannot be counted or measured, such as exclusive access to  parking areas.

1. All rates are per room, single or double occupancy and are inclusive of breakfast.
2. Rates are inclusive of 2% tourism levy. All rates  are net and non-commissionable.
3. Due to high demand in certain months, rates will be subject to review without notice.
4. Full prepayment for all reservations must be received by the hotel seven (7) days prior to arrival of your clients.  Non-payment will nullify this agreement unless queries are forwarded in writing.
5. Persons not arriving on the booking date will be charged at 100% of the reservation rate for one night.
6. Cancellation charges will be charged as follows:

8. Extenuating circumstances will be considered and must be explained in writing.
9. Children under 12 years of age sharing a room with adults are accommodated free of charge however an extra charge for breakfast will be levied.
10. Children between 3 years and 12 years in own room will be charged half the applicable adult rate.
